Eligibility
- Each School could send one team to participate in each category of the Competition. The maximum participating teams from each school will be one team for The Front-runner and one team for The Pioneer.
- The Online Enrolment Form must be filled by teachers in the name of their schools.
- Each team consists of 4-5 students.
- Participants must be full-time Primary 4 to Secondary 3 students.
- 1-2 participants are from different backgrounds and learning abilities, i.e.,
(a) Different gender
(b) Different grade
(c) Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
(d) Ethnic minorities students
(e) Underprivileged students
Fees
To ensure the fairness of the Competition, each participating team must use the robot materials as assigned by the organizer. However, we understand that some school teams have participated in the Competition and they already have at least 1 set of materials. Hence, except the first-time participating teams, purchasing robot material kit sets from organizer will be optional.
- Registration fee for each team: HK$500
- Robot martial kit set fee: HK$5,000
- Remote controller & receiver (new model): HK$500
Application Procedures
Complete the Online Enrolment Form (Link: https://gce.hkust.edu.hk/elcp/3rd/enrolmentForm.php).
Deadline: 23:59, 16 January 2024 (Tue) (*Extended to 23:59, 9 February 2024 (Fri))
(If the quotas are exceeded, allocation of places will be determined by balloting. Applicants will receive a separate email notification of the result. )
Competition rules and terms
- Participating school teams must read carefully the terms and conditions of the Competition. After submitting the application, the school teams agree to abide by and accept the relevant terms and arrangements.
- Participants must ensure that the information on the submitted Online Enrolment Form is correct.
- Fees once paid are NOT refundable or transferrable.
- The organizer reserves the right to cancel the contest results of any school teams which violated or disobeyed any convention rules. The registration fee of the disqualified participant will not be refunded.
- The organizer reserves the right to use any relevant photos, videos and event records for any legal purposes, including event promotion, online voting, and announcement of the results of the Competition.
- The organizer reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the activities. Any temporary changes to the activities will be subject to the announcement on the website. In case of any dispute, the organizer reserves the right of final decision.
